Fun with the new camera!

On Saturday, Mike and I were playing around with the new camera, and took some cool shots. Here's our favorite one, and yes, that's my belly!

The Nursery is Almost Done!

I have to give credit to my amazing husband for completing so much of the nursery without me! He did virtually everything himself, with some gentle direction from me, of course! We still need to hang some pictures and of course, wait to find out if it's a boy or girl, so that we can get some last minute touches. But, for all intensive purposes, it's done! Let us know what you think :)

Mike did all the paiting and chair rail work himself, along with putting together all the furniture!

Check out the top shelf...I received so many books at my baby shower! Our child is going to love to read and we'll never get bored, with so many books to choose from!

Quite the collection already!

Another close up of the bookshelf. Fun Fact:
The wooden frame on the second shelf contains a framed "IOU" that Mike wrote to his cousin, Paige, after she was born. He went to stay with his Aunt Deb and Uncle Steve after she came home, and documented all the things Paige would owe him once he had kids! Priceless!

I can't wait to use this glider! Again, Mike picked it out and it is beyond comfortable! Which is good, because I have a feeling we'll be spending a lot of time in it!

FINALLY...holiday pictures as promised!

So, I finally got around to downloading the new software for our new camera and have some pictures from the holidays! Enjoy!

Lucy is oh so thrilled that we decided to get her some reindeer antlers!

All ready for Santa!
This years tree!
Christmas at the Niklauski's!

Nicole, Baby Taylor, Me, Stacey and Baby Madalynn!

We made a quick day trip to Annapolis, where we ate a yummy lunch!

Just thought it looked pretty:

Baby Woje Updates!

Hi Everyone! I know I haven't written in a while, but I wanted update everyone about what's going on.

So, my blood pressure is still high! I go to the Dr. on Mondays for my regular OB appointments, where they check everything out. Unfortunately, it's always high, so they are still monitoring me closely. If it continues to be high, they will talk about inducing me on 2/1. So, keep your fingers crossed that I stay stable for the next week and a half, at least, and then anytime after that, we can all welcome this little one into the world!

Great news is, by now, the baby should measure about 7 lbs! Wow!

Appointment Update

Well, I didn't know so many people were reading until I got a bunch of e-mails and text messages asking me about my appointment on Friday! Thanks so much to everyone who called/e-mailed/texted me to see how it went.

The good news is that the baby is doing well--they estimate that it weighs about 5 and 1/2 pounds or so right now, and is head down.

My blood pressure is still high, so I will continue to be monitored at my weekly Dr. appointments. I really don't anticipate going into labor/needing to be induced before February 1 (37 weeks), so I could use some prayers to that end!

We'll keep updating as often as possible, and thanks again for all of the positive thoughts--we really believe they help!

Doctor's Appointment Update

Well, today was an interesting day, to say the least!

I had a doctor's appointment at 11 AM, and then needed to turn right around and come home to take part in my "Virtual National Sales Meeting," which is just like the one I usually travel to in January, but it's all online this time. ANYWAY, first things first, I got on the scale. Only gained 2 lbs., which I consider a freakin' miracle given all the holiday goodies I consumed!

Next, they did my blood pressure, which was high, but she said she'd try again. Meanwhile, she tested my urine, and there were traces of protein in it (not a good thing). They tried my blood pressure 3 more times in the office, and it would not come down, so off to Labor & Delivery I went!

I was pretty scared, mostly because I wasn't expecting this, and because I would like to keep Baby Woje inside as long as possible. They hooked me up to a blood pressure machine and put the baby on a fetal heart monitor, so that we could make sure that my high blood pressure wasn't adding stress to the baby. Great news there, it wasn't! Baby did fine all day (with the one exception: Mike mentioned getting home in time for the game, and I said "What game?," to which I got a good swift kick in the stomach! From the baby, not Mike, of course!)

My blood pressure went down, and then went back up after I moved around a bit, which concerned them. But luckily, I was sent home. Now, I need to undergo a series of tests on Wednesday and Friday. The good news is that the baby is developing well, and God forbid he or she would need to come early, the doctors think there wouldn't be a problem.

So, please say an extra prayer for us tonight and pray that God will keep the baby safe and sound in the womb until at least 37 weeks! We'll keep updating!

Happy New Year!

Happy 2009, everyone! Mike and I spent New Year's Eve curled up on the couch with Lucy and a humidifier, as we were both feeling horrible from these colds that won't leave our systems! As my mom said, it's good practice for next year, when we have New Year's Eve with a 10 month old! LOL

We also made a wonderful dinner--including Lobster Mac n Cheese, a recipe from one of my favorite restaurants in Philadelphia, the Continental Midtown. YUM! Today, Mike's making his traditional pork chops, kielbasa and sauerkraut with mashed potatoes! This is one Polish tradition I am particularly excited to have married into! But, the diet starts Monday, right? Who am I kidding, mine doesn't start for another 7 weeks or so...woo hoo!

We're so excited for everything 2009 holds for us, but most excited to become parents! There are sure to be a lot of changes this year, but we're anxiously awaiting all of them.

We're still learning how to use the new camera we got for Christmas, so lots of holiday pictures are forthcoming! Until then, wishing you a Happy and Healthy 2009!
